02/25/2010 - By Admin

A wedding is a time of celebration. A time to celebrate and embrace the ones you love and care about in their journey onwards in life and in creating a new family. Naturally you would want to do what you can to give them the best start possible in their married life. So what should you get for their wedding gifts?

Tradition usually suggests giving practical presents that can go into the household. But today, few people live traditionally and not everyone couple has an empty house to fill up just after getting married. Instead more and more people are looking to give presents that will give the married couple exiting times they would have probably not have the opportunity to experience.

Gourmet excursions and trips are a great wedding gift ideas for couples who love gourmet food and fine wine. Instead of giving the happy newly wed couple cookware to slave over in the kitchen, how about sending them away to amazing culinary experiences and treats instead? Who has time to cook up delicacies today anyway? any hard work in the kitchen should certainly not be on the honeymoon agenda for anyone! Today there are plenty of options available for gourmet experiences. Everything from tasting of fine wines to exclusive dining in one of the UK's finest restaurants.

Wine tasting is a tradition that is as old as wine making itself. Many people travel around the world to taste famous wines and enjoy the countryside while they doing so. Since most wine is produced in warm and pleasant climates and surroundings, the trip becomes a soothing experience for the soul as well as the taste buds. The couple do not have to be wine connoisseurs to appreciate good wine, but obviously the more the couple enjoy good wine the more you will enjoy a wine tasting excursion.

For the wine tasting trip of a lifetime, how about sending the couple to Bordeaux, France, for three days of luxury and spoiled taste buds? The couple will stay in an 18th century castle, with all modern amenities of course! Three days of visits to three different exclusive vineyards, including a visit to the famous Medoc chateaux, know for its high quality wines and amazing vineyards.

For something a little more interactive, a cooking course for two will certainly be appreciated. Learn how to cook great food taught by expert skilled chefs. One such course offers the chance to cook in the studio of Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi, known from BBC 2's serious Return To Tuscany.

The couple will spend a day, tasting great Italian food, cheese and wine, but more importantly get their hands dirty making classic dishes under expert tutoring. At the end of the day, they will come away prepared to cook tasty Tuscany and Italian dishes for themselves and friends. That includes you and your appetite!

These are only two examples of an imaginative wedding present to give to a food fanatic couple. Many more great experiences are available from cheese tasting or fine London dining, to short breaks in the countryside with contemporary cooking courses and instruction.
